To know God and to make Him known.

Classical Conversations strives to present every subject in a Christian worldview. This means:

The more we learn, the more we want to learn, because we approach every subject knowing it was created by God.

O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God!
—Romans 11:33 (NKJV)

All subjects are related to each other and all point back to God, who created a universe that was unified and good.

For of him, and through him, and to him, are all things: to whom be glory forever.
—Romans 11:36 (NKJV)

We teach students to take every thought captive in every subject and to be prepared with an answer to non-believers.

For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ.
—2 Corinthians 10:4-6 (NKJV)

We believe the Classical model is Biblical. It is presented throughout the scriptures in the form of these words: knowledge, understanding and wisdom. These three concepts correlate to the classical terms: grammar, dialectic, and rhetoric. Consider these examples:

Prov 2:6, 9-11 “For the Lord gives wisdom, and from his mouth come knowledge and understanding.... Then you will understand what is right and just and fair…”

Col 1:19 “We…desire that you might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding.”
